CANNELTON—Cannelton held Whitesville Trinity to 30.0 percent field-goal shooting to beat the Raiders 65-43 in girls basketball Saturday.
“We played pretty good defense,” said Cannelton Coach Mike Garrett.
The Bulldogs led only 25-19 at halftime, though, because they committed 14 turnovers in the first two quarters.
“The first half was sloppy,” said Garrett. “You could tell we hadn’t played since Dec. 11 (because of two snow-outs and the Christmas break).”
