  • Tell City girls win triangular

    HUNTINGBURG—Chelsea Malone, Amanda Wagner and C.J. Fentress each won three events as Tell City won a girls triangular swim meet Monday.
    The Marksmen scored 133 points. Heritage Hills scored 106 and Southridge 88.
    Malone, Wagner, Erika Hauenstein and C.J. Fentress won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:00.06.
    Malone also won the 50 freestyle in 26.66 seconds and the 100 free in 58.74.
    Wagner also won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.81 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.07.

  • PC girls outshoot Blackhawks

    LEOPOLD—Perry Central hit 56.4 percent from the field to beat Springs Valley 55-39 in PLAC girls basketball last Thursday.
    Center Ashley Graves hit 6 of 7 field-goal attempts for the Commodores.
    She scored eight points in the first quarter as they jumped to a 15-5 lead.
    Deidra Dickerson hit three three-point shots in the second quarter to help the Commodores expand their lead to 32-13.
    Dickerson finished with 15 points, Graves 12, and Lavina Schwartz nine.
    Graves led the team in rebounds with eight.

  • PC girls edge Rams 39-38

    LEOPOLD—Tessa Lynch hit an 18-foot baseline shot with six seconds left to lift Perry Central past Paoli 39-38 in PLAC girls basketball Tuesday.
    The Commodores improved to 4-0 in the conference and 11-2 overall, their best start ever.
    Perry Central led the entire first three quarters, by as much as 10 points.
    Then McKinzie Laswell made several nice drives for Paoli and the fourth quarter featured 10 lead changes and one tie.
    Lynch’s basket put the Commodores ahead 39-37.

    REO—Northeast Dubois outshot Tell City from the field 53.5 percent to 30.2 percent to rout the Marksmen 60-35 for seventh place in the PSC Holiday Classic boys basketball tourney Friday.
