MARENGO - Nick Huber tied Perry Central's high jump record and the Commodores dominated the distance races as they won a boys quadrangular track meet Thursday.

Perry Central scored 94 points, Paoli 77, Mitchell 51, and Crawford County 6.

Huber won the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 5 inches to tie the school record set by Loyd Jobe in 1990.

He strained a calf muscle trying to break the record, though, so he did not run the 300-meter intermediate hurdles or 1600 relay.

He had already run the 110 high hurdles and won them in 15.53 seconds.

CANNELTON - Cannelton's baseball team hasn't lost by the 10-run rule yet, but South Central scored in six of the seven innings to beat the Bulldogs 16-6 Thursday.

Cannelton tied the game 6-6 in the bottom of the third inning with two runs on two walks, a single by Thomas Lane, and RBI grounders by Spencer Herzog and Cody Lawalin.

South Central came right back with four runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good, though.

The Rebels had just two hits that inning, as two walks, two throwing errors and a wild pitch also contributed to those runs.

LYNNVILLE - Marissa Feagley pitched a perfect game as Tecumseh beat Cannelton 21-0 in girls softball Saturday.

Feagley struck out 11 in the five-inning game.

Tecumseh had only seven hits but scored eight runs in the first inning on just two hits.

Cannelton pitcher Shy May walked four and hit five batters that inning.

May pitched a complete game, walking 17, hitting seven, and striking out none.

LEOPOLD - Nick Huber won four events to lead Perry Central to victory in a boys triangular track meet Tuesday.

Perry Central scored 76.5 points, Southridge 49, and South Spencer 41.5.

Huber won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.34 seconds and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 42.9.

He ran the 200 dash for the first time and won it in 23.18.

He teamed with Michael Ernst, Zach Hagedorn and Todd Gehlhausen to win the 1600 relay in 3:37.

Ernst ran a 50.75 lap on that relay and also won the 800 run in 2:05.
