    TELL CITY—Tell City senior forward-center Chris Kohnert was the second-leading vote-getter on the All-PAC boys basketball team Monday.
    The 6-foot-7 Kohnert finished behind only Gibson Southern post player Spencer Schmitt in voting by conference coaches for the 10-man team.
    “Chris is very deserving of this award as one of the elite basketball players in southern Indiana and the Pocket Athletic Conference,” said Tell City Coach Troy Noble. “His dedication in the offseason was tremendous.

    LYNNVILLE—Brandon Cook scored 37 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, to lead Cannelton past New Harmony 68-64 in the Class A boys basketball sectional semifinals Friday.

  • Marksmen go 3-1 Saturday

    OWENSVILLE—Four Tell Citians each went 4-0 to lead the Marksmen to a 3-1 record in Gibson Southern’s junior high wrestling tourney Saturday.
    Tell City beat North Knox 56-39, Tecumseh 69-21 and Vincennes Clark 74-21 but lost to Gibson Southern 55-39.
    Javier Mendez and Joe Craig remained undefeated for the season.
    Jarrett Hawhee and Brendan Richards each also went 4-0 Saturday, and Jacob Hammack went 3-0.
    Davin Davis, David Teague, Steven Wheatley and Nick Buchta each went 3-1. Dalton Froehlich went 2-1.
