Most sports events involving Perry County teams Wednesday through Friday were postponed because of rain.

Tell City's boys golf match at Boonville Wednesday was rained out and had not been rescheduled at press time.

Tell City's girls tennis match at Tecumseh was rained out Thursday and Friday, the second and third times it has been postponed.

It has been rescheduled for today at 4:30 p.m.

Tell City's PAC baseball game at Southridge Thursday and at home against Heritage Hills Friday were also postponed.

TELL CITY - Tell City senior Tyler Henning has signed a national letter of intent to play football for Hanover College.

As an NCAA Division III school, Hanover cannot offer athletic scholarships. But Henning will receive other grants and academic scholarships, including the Donner Scholarship (named after Hanover's first president).

He was recruited as a quarterback and punter.

The Panthers lost their starting quarterback from this year and have only two other quarterbacks on their roster for next fall, a sophomore and a senior who did not play in any games this year.

FORT BRANCH - Tell City senior Kyle Kessinger won two sprints to lead Tell City to third place in the PAC boys track meet Thursday.

Forest Park won the meet with 142 points, four more than runner-up Heritage Hills. Tell City scored 88.

Kessinger ran the 100-meter dash in 11.12 seconds and the 400 in 51.22 for his two blue ribbons.

His 100 time is the fifth best on Tell City's all-time honor roll in that event and is just 10-hundredths of a second behind Davin Harpe's school record.

Kessinger's wins were the Marksmen's only first places.

FORT BRANCH - Tell City scored 25 points in the two throwing events to finish fifth in the nine-team PAC girls track meet Tuesday.

Southridge won with 137 points. Tell City scored 49.

Julie Davis earned Tell City's highest place, taking second in the discus with a 109-foot-8 throw. Teammate Dana Sibrel placed third at 109-3.

Gibson Southern star Kasey Kahle won with a 128-foot throw. That would have won the Evansville regional last year, when she placed second with a 118-foot-1 throw.
