EVANSVILLE—Mater Dei made 28 of its 34 field goals from within 7 feet of the basket and beat Tell City 86-64 in boys basketball Tuesday.
The Wildcats, with a starting frontline that was 6-foot-7, 6-5 and 6-4, towered over Tell City, which started 6-2 Jesse Stow and no one else over 6 feet.
They used that height advantage to outrebound the Marksmen 40-30. They made seven field goals and three free throws after grabbing offensive rebounds.
“We tried to box out,” said Tell City Coach John Hayes. “But sometimes they could just go up over us.
