  • Cromwell Radio Group ribbon cutting...

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting for Cromwell Radio Group – WTCJ-FM at 9 a.m. Tuesday to celebrate the re-opening of their “hometown radio” studio in Tell City.
    The Cromwell station is once again located at 645 Main Street in Tell City, above German American Bank, and will host an open house from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday.

    TELL CITY – Due to weather conditions, the Daughter of Isabella’s Feb. 1 meeting has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall.
    Serving on the business committee are Dorothy LaGrange, Betty Kessens, Leona Kleiser, Clara Kress, Jeanie Labhart and Evelyn Lasley.

  • Band Boosters seeking items for...

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Band Boosters are accepting donations for the annual Tell City Band Boosters Auction to be held Saturday at Tell City High School.
    Boosters are contacting area businesses seeking donated items for the auction and would welcome public donations such as gently used furniture, appliances, household items as well as large items such as a vehicles or recreational vehicles.
    The organization is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) group and large donations could be tax-deductible.

    CANNELTON – The board of directors for the Perry County Parks and Recreation board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9.
    The meeting will be held in the courthouse annex.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society is re-releasing copies of the 150th Anniversary Pictorial History.
    With more than 150 pages of pictures and historical descriptions, nearly 1,000 references to individual people who have lived in Tell City this 8.5-by-11 inch display volume is a perfect gift or addition to the home of any fan of Tell City.

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Women for Women Advisory Committee will again sponsor the Glamour, Glitz and Gourmet event at Schergens Center in Tell City.
    Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 and the community is invited to attend and peruse the booths and activities available.

  • TCHS soccer boosters ask community...

    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Soccer Boosters have initiated a fundraising campaign for Phase 2 Improvements at the high-school soccer field located at William Tell Elementary School. These proposed improvements include completing fencing around the perimeter of the field, adding bleachers and the placement of concrete walks.
    All donated money should be sent to the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp., 837 17th Street, Tell City, Indiana 47586, Attn: Soccer Boosters so that full tax benefits will be obtained.

    Perry Central High School students voted Megan Hedinger and Ian Bashor their homecoming queen and king before the home basketball game against Crawford County Jan. 28.

    Jennifer Dartt was crowned queen and Charles Northener voted homecoming king Jan. 28 at Cannelton High School’s homecoming ceremony held between the junior varsity and varsity basketball games in Cannelton.

    Cub Scout racers

    Cub Scout Pack 191 held its Raingutter Regatta boat race Sunday, Jan. 16 at Perry Central schools. Each Cub Scout assembled and decorated a sailboat for the race.

    During the month of January, the children of Lincoln Hills Development Corp. North Perry Head Start enjoyed activities that dealt with numbers and letters.
