LEOPOLD—Perry Central built a 17-point lead with hot field-goal shooting and held on to beat Northeast Dubois 61-56 in boys basketball Friday.
The Commodores hit 54.5 percent from the field, including 59.0 percent from two-point range.
That helped them build a 17-point lead twice, the last time at 40-23 on a rebound basket by Adam Dauby with less than six minutes left in the third quarter.
They still led by 11 after Levi Hubert hit 1 of 2 free throws with 19 seconds left in that quarter.
