Acchiardo's on the ballot!...

The State's election board ruled unanimously (4-0) today that Rod Acchiardo is not in violation of any election laws regarding residency. So now we're set for a race between him and Collins for the prosecutor job in November! Finally Perry County gets a choice. If anyone would like more information about Acchiardo, he does have a website:  http://www.acchiardo.com :) Now that he's cleared to run, maybe now we can all focus on the issues at hand.

It seems to take everything entirely too long to get paperwork to move through the perry county courthouse. Yes we all understand some things take time, but there are numerous items that are simple documents that should not take long. Getting divorce paperwork through the court, the most recent divorce a friend of mine endured, took 6 month instead of 3. It is already a hard enough thing to deal with, but to remain married to someone whom you have already decided was no longer tolerable, but to extend things 3 months past, is rediculous.

Everyone in Tell City and Hawesville gets AT&T DSL except for Cannelton. I think we should see if our city could get it. We have AT&T phone service but we need dsl service also. Please check into this. Thank you.

New School Board

The TC NEWS reported that the first meeting for the new board revealed conflict between the two new members and the existing members.  No surprise.  By reappointing Ress, nothing  changed.  The three-member bloc(Bryant, Ress, Hoagland) will control the agenda going forward until the next election cycle. 

Resposibility ....

Why do hunters think it's a retail workers responsibility to make sure they get the right license? I witnessed a hunter a couple of days ago chewing out a sales clerk for supposedly selling him the wrong license . The hunter evidently had actually told the clerk the license he wanted but had asked for the wrong one. So whose fault is that? I see this alot in our society ,i.e. blaming others for our decisions. How many times do we say buy something then not read the manual/instructions then gripe about it not working right?

Who is above the law in perry...
