Vicki and David Dickenson of Tell City celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary April 15 with a family dinner celebration. They were married April 11, 1992 at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. They have a son, Cole Dickenson, 15.
David is employed at Best Home Furnishings and Vicki is employed at Owensboro Health. Mrs. Dickenson is the former Vicki Sutcliffe.
EVANSVILLE – Trista J. Lutgring has been promoted to the position of managing editor at Tucker Publishing Group.
She joined Tucker Publishing Group in 2015 and previously served as senior writer since July 2016. Prior to her affiliation with TPG, Lutgring worked as a sales representative and feature writer at the Perry County News in Tell City. In 2012, she was awarded second place in Best Sports Feature category of the Hoosier State Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.
TELL CITY – Congratulations to Shane Lasher, a senior at Tell City Junior-Senior High School, for being named a 2017 Indiana Academic All-Star. From across the state, only 40 Indiana Academic All-Stars and 50 Regional All-Stars will be honored at the awards luncheon this spring in Indianapolis to recognize their academic achievement.
ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is hosting an art exhibit called “One Plus One” through May 30. The exhibit showcases the art of two friends, Brother Martin Erspamer OSB and Kazhia Kolb.
Brother Martin will be showing drawings and ceramics. His work in ceramic ranges from functional pieces to more sculptural work. Glazes are used to produce a variety of colors and textures. Some pieces are decorated with delicate line drawings, while other work is deeply incised, producing figurative work of dramatic intensity.
CANNELTON – If the county decides to lease the Can-Clay grounds back to the manufacturer, Cannelton City Schools wants a piece of whatever finances come down the pipe. Schools Superintendent Dr. Alva Sibbitt met with county commissioners Tuesday during the board’s regular session at the high school to plead that case.
TELL CITY—Perry Central won seven of 16 events but used its depth to beat Tell City 67-65 in boys track Thursday.
Perry Central took both second and third place in six of the 13 individual events.
John Bashor won the 800-meter run in 2:15 and teamed with Logan Hubert, Chase James and Creek Wright to win the 3200 relay in 11:03.41.
