TELL CITY—Switching from an individual tourney to a two-person, best-ball format hasn’t really changed who wins the Schweizer Fest Golf Open.
This was the fifth year for the two-person, best-ball format and third time in the last four years that one of the winners was a former individual champion.

Mark Flannagan, a three-time individual winner, teamed with his son Shane to finish second just one stroke behind the champs.

LEOPOLD—Tell City forced four turnovers and made several nice cutback runs to beat Perry Central 20-7 in a football season opener Friday.
The Marksmen recovered three of Perry Central’s four fumbles, with Mason Stephens getting two and Dustin Hunt recovering one that Davin Lawrence caused.
Cameron Kessinger intercepted a pass for the other turnover.
Hunt’s fumble recovery at the Perry Central 34-yard line set up Tell City’s first touchdown.
HUNTINGBURG—Emma Kohnert made nine kills and four solo blocks and served 16 points as Tell City beat Southridge 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 in PAC volleyball Thursday.
Four of her points came on ace serves.
Morgan Schuetter served 11 points, including three aces, and made eight digs.
Kammie Jo Hayes made eight kills to back Kohnert in that department and Rachel Malone had 14 assists.
Tell City won the JV match 25-20, 25-16.
Tell City also won the C-team match 25-20, 25-23 as Ava Hilgenhold served seven aces and had five assists.
