CANNELTON—Whitesville Trinity held off Cannelton’s 24-point, fourth-quarter rally to edge the Bulldogs 61-60 in girls basketball Monday.
The Raiders led by 8-10 points most of the game. But in the closing minutes “we started playing man-to-man, pressured the ball, forced some turnovers, and got some good shots off,” said Cannelton Coach Mike Garrett.
The Bulldogs had two shots to take the lead in the final seconds. Mikah Hemmings missed an 8-foot jumper, got her own rebound, and missed again with 0:02 left.
