Hale – Howard

Dana M. Hale and Eric L. Howard were united in marriage during an evening ceremony Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Vegas Wedding in Las Vegas, Nev.

The bride is the daughter of Dianna and Dennie Criss of Hawesville, Ky. Mr. Howard is the son of Stephanie Wilber and Larry Wilber of Tobinsport and Ellis Howard of Tell City.
Karie Briem was chosen as the maid of honor and Brandon Sodrel of Troy served as the best man.
A reception was held in Las Vegas following the ceremony. The new Mr. and Mrs. Eric Howard reside in Tell City.

Faust – Banet

Chuck and Janet Faust of Leopold and Larry Bennet of Millstone announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Dana Faust and Jeff Banet.

Mr. Banet is also the son of the late Brenda Banet.
A private wedding ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
A reception will follow at the Bristow Community Center.
Formal invitations have been issued.

Senior Farmer’s Market available

PERRY COUNTY – The Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is available in Perry County this year under the sponsorship of Lincoln Hills Development Corporation through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.  
The program will provide $3,000 in voucher checks from the Indiana Department of Health to 150 low-income households in Perry County.  The program encourages low-income senior citizens to purchase nutritious, locally grown produce which helps support our community’s farmers.  

Greene – Querry

Jessica Greene of Anderson and Taylor Querry of Chesterfield announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-elect is the adopted daughter of Madonna and Rick Greene and the biological daughter of Sally Smith of Tell City. Mr. Querry is the son of Jodie and Terry Querry of Kokomo.
A ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 26, 2013, in Anderson with a reception to follow.

Raffle tickets still available

PERRY COUNTY – Raffle tickets are still being sold to replenish funds the Humane Society of Perry County spent to help a police dog. They’re available at local stores and will be sold at a Moose Club event July 4.

The raffle prize is a hall chair hand-made by retired woodworker Charlie Fall. The drawing will be conducted at the Humane Society’s annual pet show Aug. 10 during Schweizer Fest.

Groups get nearly $25,000 for historic preservation education

CANNELTON – Cannelton High School is one of 13 organizations collectively awarded nearly $25,000 in grants by Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks. 

Nature field day Saturday at Tipsaw

TELL CITY – The 11th annual Adventures with Nature Field Day will be held at Tipsaw Lake June 22. 

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, Perry and Spencer counties’ soil and water conservation districts and the U.S. Forest Service continue to work together to present the event.

Activities will get under way at 9 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 1 p.m.

2013 summer Perry County Bookmobile schedule released

TELL CITY – Following is the summer schedule for the Perry County Bookmobile. Materials may be returned to any stop on the schedule or to the Tell City-Perry County Public Library or the Cannelton Public Library.
School stops are scheduled with classes all day; for smaller crowds and easier selection, avoid those stops.  If school is cancelled or is released early, the bookmobile schedule may change. When in doubt, contact the library.
Anyone wishing to check out materials on the bookmobile will have to have a library card to check out.

Malone earns degree from IU

BLOOMINGTON – Aaron Ross Malone graduated from Indiana University May 4 with a bachelor’s degree in human biology with a concentration in human health and disease, minors in chemistry and psychology and a certificate in business foundations from the Kelley School of Business.
