TELL CITY—Elliott Brown won four events to lead Tell City past Boonville and Jasper in boys track Thursday.
Tell City scored 70 points, Boonville 53, and Jasper 44.
Brown won the 100-meter dash in 11.16 seconds, which was close to Kyle Kessinger’s school record. Kessinger’s record is 11.17 with fully automatic timing, which is slower than Thursday’s hand-held timing.
Brown also turned in his best performances of the season as he won the 200 in 23.22 and the long jump at 19 feet, 6 inches.

MITCHELL—Hannah Edwards had three hits and Lexi Aders drove in three runs as Perry Central beat Mitchell 7-4 in PLAC girls softball Thursday.
The Commodores scored five runs on four hits in the first inning.
They built their lead to 7-0 in the top of the fifth.
Mitchell got its hitting going late, though several were “little bloops,” said Perry Central Coach Mark Rothgerber.
The Commodores outhit Mitchell 13-10 despite their swings being “way out front” of Mitchell’s slower than usual pitches, Rothgerber said.

TELL CITY—Crawford County scored 10 second-inning runs to beat Tell City 10-4 in a rain-shortened girls softball game Tuesday.
Crawford County had only four hits in five innings. But the Wolfpack took advantage of six walks, two errors and two wild pitches in their big inning.
The good news for the Marksmen, though, is they are starting to hit better. Jessie Wheatley went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead their six-hit attack.
She raised her season batting average to .500 (6 for 12).

LEOPOLD—Sydney Goffinet hit two home runs to power Perry Central past Wood Memorial 20-0 in girls softball Tuesday.
Goffinet went 2 for 2 plus two walks and drove in three runs. Her homers gave her five for the season, breaking the school record of four set by Morgan Richardson last year.
Richardson went 3 for 4 with two triples Tuesday.
Madison Guillaume added two doubles. Brittany Parker, Ashley Guillaume and Lexi Aders each hit a double and a single, and Autumn Lain also had two hits.
