• Pfc. Louis Wheatley, 26, has been wounded in action in Germany, according to the War Department. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Wheatley.
• A horse is at the center of a lawsuit filed in court this week in Perry Circuit Court. Ida Delany made a deal with Roscoe Ray to purchase a horse. She made a $50 deposit and was to pay the balance of $15 if the horse proved satisfactory. Now she alleges the horse was a dud, diseased and lame with sore legs and hips.
