A fun time fishin’ at German...

The Tell City District hosted the 18th annual Kids Fishing Derby at German Ridge Pond May 18. This year’s event drew in 51 kids from the area and featured a big fish contest, most fish caught contest, and a casting contest in each of the four age groups. The kids caught a total of 150 bluegill, redear, largemouth bass and rainbow trout.

A story was brought to my attention recently, and I want to do everything in my power to make sure that this does not happen in Indiana. A few weeks ago, a student at Arizona State University was put in a wheelchair and left in the emergency room lobby with nothing but a post-it note saying “I’ve been drinking, and I need some help.”

We urge the county council to invite Horse Rescue South to their next meeting, and to listen this time to what they have to offer you.

The “longest days” of the year are upon us and if there’s any time to venture out super-early in the morning, it’s mid-June. These early weeks of summer, well, late spring, technically, bring the most hours of sunlight and too many people sleep away the overtime Mother Nature gives to us.

Bristow United Pentecostal homecoming
BRISTOW – The 60th homecoming for the Bristow United Pentecostal Church will be June 9.
This will also be the 20th Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor and Mrs. Clarence Enmen Jr.
Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. with a pot-luck dinner at 11:45 a.m. A special service and singing will follow the dinner.
The Rev. Gary Ellis of Clarksville, Tenn., will be the speaker at both services.

TELL CITY – County commissioners approved at a regular meeting the portion of a bicycle route that will pass through Perry County as part of the Ferdinand Folk Fest Fondo Sept. 21-22.
