Lone win sends Legacy Financial...

TELL CITY – Legacy Financial rallied in the bottom of the last inning to win its only game Wednesday and moved into a first-place tie in Tell City’s age-13-16 girls softball league.
Legacy trailed Ohio Valley Gas 8-6 in the middle of the last inning, but used a combination of hits and errors to win 9-8.
That gave Legacy a 4-2 record. That was the same as Cash Waggner’s record after Cash Waggner lost two games Wednesday.
Cash Waggner had only two hits and hit only two balls out of the infield in a 7-4 loss to Goffinet Homes.

Clarification

A news item in Thursday’s edition about the 74th annual meeting of Southern Indiana Power should have pointed out that the event is for members of the cooperative only, not the general public.  
The event is Friday at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City. Members received information and a registration form in the mail.

LEOPOLD – Perry Central football families are invited to a meeting at 6 p.m. today in the high-school study-hall room.

RSVP’s ice-cream social

TELL CITY – In honor of Senior Corps Week, Lincoln Hills Development Corp.’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will host its annual ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24 at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 802 10th St., Tell City.
The event will feature food, fun, bingo and prizes, organizers said.
All RSVP volunteers and volunteer station representatives are invited to attend, as well as anyone 55 years and older who would like to learn more about RSVP.

St. Paul church picnic raffle...

TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church’s annual live auction – usually held during the annual church picnic – has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Friday at the parish hall. Inclement weather during the June 9 Picnic in the Park caused the postponement.
The auction will start at 5 p.m. with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, brats, drinks and cookie on sale. The country store will be open and children will be able to purchase inflatable toys.
