BRANCHVILLE – An Indiana correctional facility currently home to more than 1,400 men is led by a woman who brings a wealth of experience to her new job – and a talented staff.
Kathy Alvey, a Perry County native who has worked at the medium-security facility since 1992, became superintendent Oct. 19. She succeeds Gil Peters, who remains with the Indiana Department of Correction as an assistant to the department’s commissioner.
Alvey served as acting superintendent since Peters left in April.
