Marksmen pull off a come from behind victory

TELL CITY — Tell City’s softball team on Wednesday faced Heritage Hills and the Marksmen found themselves down 7-0 going into the bottom of the sixth. However, the Marksmen scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth combined to overtake the Patriots in a 9-8 contest.

Heritage Hills jumped out to the lead by scoring the first run in the top of the second inning. Ali Gardner of Heritage Hills hit a RBI single to score Lexi Lubbehusen. Lubbehusen reached base off a fielder’s choice. The Patriots after taking a 1-0 lead scored five runs in the top of the third. Those runs were scored off a double by Haley Fisher, single from Rylie Schipp, single from Aly Schipp, and a double by Gardner. Furthermore, in the top of the fourth, the Patriots took a 7-0 lead due to a home run from Hadley Leibering.
