Our law-enforcement officers are the first line of defense against crime. They conduct themselves in a manner that supports, maintains and defends the Constitution of the state of Indiana and the United States. While performing their duties, they risk their own lives to save the lives of others.

The law-enforcement officer faces difficult challenges every day.

To the community of Tell City, as we prepare to return home to Utah, we want to thank you all for being so welcoming and friendly to us this past year.

It’s been delightful to go into the hospital, City Hall, schools, businesses, restaurants, etc., or walk down the street and have people wave, smile or talk to us.

We’ve really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The Council on Agencies in Tell City would like to thank the Tell City High School Class of 1962 for their recent financial donation.

These funds, collected in lieu of a gift exchange during the group’s Christmas party, will be especially beneficial as the council struggles to keep up with the increasing number of families who find it difficult to purchase the food they need.

Local donations and funds provided by the United Way enable our county’s food pantries to operate successfully.

January is National Stalking Awareness Month, a time to focus on a crime that affected 6.6 million victims in one year. One in six women and one in 19 men will be stalked. The theme – “Stalking: Know It. Name It. Stop It.” – challenges the nation to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it.

Stalking is a crime in all 50 states, the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia, yet many victims and criminal-justice professionals underestimate its seriousness and impact.
