I appreciated the “Our View” article, “Be Mindful of Bicyclists” in the June 4 Perry County News.

I am an avid cyclist and have been for the past three decades. My hobby began during my college years at Indiana University. I log between 1,500 and 2,000 miles annually on the roadways in Perry County and neighboring Kentucky. My typical two-hour outings cover from 25-30 miles each several days a week.

On behalf of the Tell City Marksmen High School baseball coaches, players and parents, I would like to thank the following businesses for their support of Marksmen baseball: Aleris, Jasper Engines, Subway, Wendy’, McDonald’s, Arby’s, Pappa John’s Pizza, Chicago Pizza, Coke Company, Save-A-Lot Food Stores, The Post, Snyder Constructions and Wal-Mart. Along with parental support and the above names businesses a snack lunch was provided to every player for each away baseball game; a total of 410 sack lunches.

I want to give a job well done by the staff and students at Cannelton Myers Grade School for their efforts and results in raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This is a charity my family contributes to each month because they don’t charge the families of children facing life threatening illnesses. When a family gets devastating news that their child could die from the diagnosed disease it is nice to have a place to turn to that offers state of the art treatment and to find out they don't charge for the treatment.

If you want to be part of the Kingdom of God, you have to go by the kingdom’s rules.

Homosexuality is a sin, according to the kingdom’s rules, the Bible. My opinion does not matter. What matters is what God thinks.
