The staff of Stepping Stones Preschool would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the following businesses and individuals who helped make our 2012-2013 school year a success, your support is essential to our program.

First we want to thank Father Brian Esarey, Janet and the St. Augustine Parish for sharing their space with us.

Thank you to McDonald’s, Subway, Sonic and Arby’s for providing meal certificates for our Families Reading with Redgie reading incentive program.

The Cannelton Teachers Association wishes to thank everyone who helped and supported our annual bike-athon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, held April 27.

This year’s ride was a great success, raising over $4,600 for the hospital. That is the third highest amount in its 36 years. We know that this would not have been possible without the help and support of many businesses, organizations and individuals.

The Rome Community Center and the Rome Methodist Church want to thank so many people for the wonderful day we had here during the Dogwood Festival in April. Even though the weather was gloomy and misty, people were kind enough to wait in a long line to eat our meal.

We apologize for running out of food, but it is truly very difficult to estimate the correct amount needed, even though we’ve been doing this for many years.

The fifth William Tell Elementary Triathlon was held Saturday, May 11. This event was offered free to any William Tell Elementary student in first through sixth grades.

This year’s triathlon had 133 student participants and numerous family members who also ran or biked with students.

All participating students were given a free T-shirt, fruit, water bottle, sack lunch and pool party.
