Someone asked me not long ago about what stories I’d like to write if I had the time. I clicked off a few ideas but I’ve thought about the question since then.

The list has grown longer and I’ll mention a few here in hopes readers can help contact me with feature stories. Most of these are outdoors related, a sign, perhaps, that I wish I could be outside more. The offense took place before the July 1 new law making texting and driving a crime. However, the self-inflicted message to me was clear: It’s dangerous to do much of anything behind the wheel other than driving.

It’s almost fair time, and you know what that means. It’s time to see Perry County kids at their very best.
It’s a time for members to highlight some of what they have learned during their 4-H year. Hundreds of youth from across Perry County and surrounding areas will exhibit projects. It’s a great time to see kids show off their talents and see kids who make a difference in their community.
