Now that much of the hoopla and ado concerning the solar eclipse is behind us, I’d like to tell you about the time that a solar eclipse actually saved a lot of lives and ended a war. It was awhile back and most of you won’t remember it so buckle up and let’s go.
It was in 535 B.C., during the war between the Medes and the Lydians. I know, not one of the most famous altercations. During that six-year war, the two sides were fighting for control of Anatolia, an area near modern day Turkey.
