Office hopefuls for county coroner and sheriff addressed the public Thursday during a meet-the-candidates forum moderated by News Editor Vince Luecke. Rounding out the panel were Marty Haughee, second from the left, and Richard Myers. Malone and Haughee are vying for the Democratic nomination in next month’s primary election. Myers, a Republican who’s running unopposed in the primary, will take on the winner in November.
Sheriff hopefuls tout experience

TELL CITY – Keeping cool under pressure, those vying to become the next sheriff of Perry County took to the podium Thursday during a meet-the-candidates. It included Democratic incumbent Alan Malone and challenger Marty Haughee. Republican Richard Myers, who is uncontested in the primary, filled out the panel.

Each was given a few moments to present a brief introductory before moving onto the Q & A portion of the evening.
