LEOPOLD – The sixth graders at Perry Central participated in the stock market game and placed first and second within the region. The students started with a virtual cash account of $100,000 and strived to create the best-performing portfolio using a live trading simulation.
They worked together in teams, practicing leadership, organization, negotiation and cooperation as they competed for the top spot. To build a portfolio, students had to research and evaluate stocks and then make buying, selling, and trading decisions based upon what they learned.
