    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County’s 4-H clubs are working on community-service projects and would like to have the public become involved, Extension Educator Re-nate Jobst said.
    “There are three projects that are ongoing and I am hopeful the community will want to pitch in,” Jobst said.

    TELL CITY—McKenzie Hayes made 32 kills, five blocks and 18 digs as Tell City beat South Spencer 25-20, 25-5, 22-25, 25-13 in PAC volleyball Monday.

    LINCOLN CITY—Forest Park controlled the ball the majority of the time and beat Tell City 4-0 in the boys soccer sectional semifinals Saturday.

    Zane Joseph Lutgring
    Ryan and Dana Lutgring announce the birth of their son, Zane Joseph, Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the Deaconess Women’s Hospital in Newburgh. The infant weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 191⁄2 inches long.
    Mrs. Lutgring is the former Dana Brockman.
    Grandparents are Thomas and Terri Brockman of Evanston and Eric and Kim Lutgring of Tell City.

    INDIANAPOLIS—Tell City and Perry Central will face rematches in their first-round sectional football games, with Tell City’s being a really recent rematch.

    JASPER—Perry Central placed six boys in the top 15 to win its fifth consecutive boys cross country sectional Tuesday.

    St. Isidore shooting match Sunday
    BRISTOW – The St. Isidore Catholic Church shooting match is scheduled for Sunday, Sunday at the church in Bristow.
    A ham and turkey shoot will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the closed match of beef and pork will be at 2:30 p.m. First choice for the closed match is half a beef.
    Lunch will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. Food items will include homemade chili, hamburgers, homemade pie, coffee, soft drinks and bottled water.

  • Deer Creek to host movie, hayride event

    TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church in Tell City invites the community to watch the Veggie Tales newest movie, “It’s a Meaningful Life.” Those attending are also invited to join in a hayride.
    The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at the church. The movie will begin at 10, followed by lunch at 11 and the the hayride at 11:30.
    The hayrides will continue through the morning until everyone has had a chance to ride. Parent pick-up is at 12:30 p.m.
