    PAOLI—Perry Central committed 15 turnovers in the first half and lost to Paoli 59-25 in PLAC girls basketball Tuesday.
    Paoli built a 28-10 halftime lead.

    TELL CITY – County commissioners need to make appointments to a zoning-appeals board, the Tell City Plan Commission and a new animal welfare, control and education board, and will accept letters of interest until their Feb. 15 meeting.

    TELL CITY – A benefit for Perry Central student Tyler Cundiff at 1 p.m. Saturday at Indiana Realty and Auction Co. will feature many items, including Indianapolis football, hat and mini helmet memorabilia complete with signatures of some popular team members.

  • Students, volunteer leaders needed for JA project

    PERRY COUNTY – Thanks to the Perry County Women for Women Fund, Perry Central Community School and the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. are partnering with Junior Achievement of Perry County to offer the Empowering Girls to Be Entrepreneurial after-school program.   

    This program is designed to educate girls about entrepreneurship – starting your own business in hope of earning a profit – and the skills and characteristics needed to be a successful entrepreneur.

    TELL CITY – County-council members voted unanimously in a regular meeting Tuesday to retain for 2012 their officers and the same meeting schedule they’ve been following, then split in a vote on an additional appropriation for the county parks department.

  • PCMH Cardiopulmonary Department to lead new COPD Support Group

    TELL CITY – Beginning Jan. 9, Perry County Memorial Hospital will host its first COPD Support Group Meeting at 1:30 p.m. in Conference Room C. The topic will be “What is COPD?”
    COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Chronic means long-term; obstructive refers to blockage in the airways of the lung and pulmonary refers to the lungs.
    The most common obstructive lung diseases are chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis.
