MARENGO—Perry Central’s girls softball team, in its 10th year of existence, is setting several records this season.
Miranda Claise struck out 12, pitching a three-hitter, as the Commodores defeated Crawford County 2-1 Monday.
Her strikeout total tied the school single-game record set by Kristi Brumfield last year. The win was Claise’s seventh of the season, also a school record (Malorie Irvin held the record until this year with five wins in 2003).
Perry Central’s seven wins tie the team record set in 2003.
