  • SonShine rummage sale Nov 8 - 10

    NEW BOSTON – The SonShine Early Learning Ministry will host a rummage sale inside St. John’s Lutheran Church from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 and from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 10.
    A free pair of shoes will be given with every purchase. Baked goods, including sugar-free pies, will be available.
    The group will have men’s, women’s, maternity, children’s and baby clothes, toys and much more, including cribs with mattresses and a barely used Intex pool. The sale will be inside, rain or shine.
    The church is located just west of New Boston.

  • PCMH Auxiliary’s holiday bazaar Nov. 1

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1. There will also be a silent auction.
    Several items are up for bid and include a one-night stay for two, a spa session for two and cafe breakfast for two at the West Baden Inn, two one-day passes to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, a C & S gas card, a Christmas wreath, a certificate for one dessert each month for one year beginning in January 2013, a necklace and a Longaberger Christmas plate.

  • Wayde Alexander Hall

    Brad and Danielle Hall of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Wayde Alexander Hall, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Hall is the former Danielle Harth.

  • Grace Lillian Gannon

    Mike and Amanda Gannon of West Palm Beach, Fla., announce the birth of their daughter, Grace Lillian Gannon, Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Boca West Medical Center in Boca Raton, Fla.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 22 inches long.
    The Gannons also have a son, Gavin Michael, 3. Mrs. Gannon is the former Amanda Held of Tell City.
    Grandparents are Paul and Kathi Held of Tell City, Mary Lou Gannon of Newburyport, Mass., and the late Russ Gannon. Great-grandmother is Margarett Parks of Tell City.

  • Final audition for Nutcracker ballet Saturday at WTE

    PERRY COUNTY – The Tell City Regional Arts Association announces a partnership with the Children’s Center for Dance Education in Evansville to bring the “Nutcracker” ballet to Tell City.
    The performance will be held Nov. 30. Tickets will go on sale in early November.

    ROME — Gov. Mitch Daniels announced Monday the Department of Natural Resources has reached an agreement with former Gov. Edgar Whitcomb to acquire his secluded retreat on the banks of the Ohio River.

    FERDINAND—A balanced spiking attack and Brittany Parker’s strong serving helped Perry Central beat South Spencer 25-16, 25-8, 25-14 in the first round of the Forest Park volleyball sectional Thursday.
    Six different players made kills for Perry Central, led by Hannah Harpenau with 13, Sydney Goffinet nine, and Ashley Gengelbach and Jordan Sprinkle with six apiece.
    Grace James had 24 assists.
