  • Wolfpack tops Tell City

    TELL CITY—Tell City was hurt by 27 turnovers and poor shooting in a 60-33 boys basketball loss to Crawford County Saturday.
    Tell City Coach Brent Owen said, “Crawford County played solid defense. We knew what they were going to do—play a 1-3-1 zone. We were prepared for it (but) our execution tonight was the worst all season.

  • Cannelton holds off Lighthouse Christian

    BLOOMINGTON—A quick start and Brandon Cook’s 37 points helped Cannelton hold off Lighthouse Christian 77-73 in boys basketball Saturday.
    The Bulldogs jumped to a 23-13 lead but were tied 34-34 at halftime after two of their starters got into foul trouble in the second quarter.
    They built their lead back to double digits in the fourth quarter.

  • PC shoots, rebounds well to beat Mitchell

    MITCHELL—Perry Central hit 59.7 percent from the field in crushing Mitchell 86-36 in PLAC boys basketball Saturday.
    The Commodores scored several baskets on rebound shots, outrebounding Mitchell 39-14 overall.
    But they also hit well from outside, including 6 of 9 from three-point range.
    Derek Thomas led the balanced Commodore attack with 17 points. Tanner Cassidy added 16 as he made all seven of his shots from the field, including two three-pointers.
    Colten Hedinger was also perfect from the field as he scored 10 points.

  • Tell City boys 2nd in PAC

    LYNNVILLE—Hunter Sandage won the 100-yard freestyle to lead Tell City to second place in the PAC boys swim meet Saturday.

    LEOPOLD—Perry Central’s girls basketball team broke out of its shooting slump in a big way in Tuesday’s 83-20 win over Rock Creek.
