CANNELTON - Cannelton's baseball team hasn't lost by the 10-run rule yet, but South Central scored in six of the seven innings to beat the Bulldogs 16-6 Thursday.

Cannelton tied the game 6-6 in the bottom of the third inning with two runs on two walks, a single by Thomas Lane, and RBI grounders by Spencer Herzog and Cody Lawalin.

South Central came right back with four runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good, though.

The Rebels had just two hits that inning, as two walks, two throwing errors and a wild pitch also contributed to those runs.

TELL CITY - Southern Indiana Horseman's Club will hold a benefit euchre tourney for Randall "Randy" Tanner April 19. Doors open at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Cost is $5 at the door with euchre costing 25 cents. Chili, hot dogs, desserts and drinks will be available. For more information call Becky Howell at 836-2127. Tanner was diagnosed with two types of lung cancer and has no insurance to help with medical bills. All money donated will go to medical bills and expenses.

CANNELTON - Boys and girls enrolling in grades 6-9 this fall are invited to apply for the 2008 Camp with a Cop program sponsored by the Cannelton Police Department.

This year's camp is scheduled for June 18-20 at the Victory Valley Church Camp east of Cannelton.

Campers will go home after the first day of camp, Wednesday, June 18, and return the following day. They will stay overnight the second night and will return home after graduation Friday evening.

Since there are no residence requirements, campers can reside anywhere in the county or even outside the county.

CANNELTON - Parents and teachers of Cannelton City Schools students will meet in individual conferences from noon until 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to Principal Ginger Conrad.

The school system will be on a half-day schedule that day.
