    Kristel Hess and Nicholas Kratzer were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold.

    The bride is the daughter of Donald and Lynda Hess of Derby. Mr. Kratzer is the son of Jim and Billie Faye Schwartz of Tell City and the late Albert Kratzer.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Brian Esarey.

    Derek and Kip Leitner of Sidney, Ohio, announce the birth of their son, Grayson Lee, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Leitner is the former Kip Klingel from Marion, Ohio. Grayson has two older brothers, Evan Joseph, 7, and Landon Alexander, 5.
    Grandparents are Dennis and Rose Mary Leitner of Tell City and Herb and Linda Klingel of Marion. Great-grandparents are Charles J. Leitner of Tell City and the late Edith Leitner and Oscar and Eva Poehlein.

  • Calvin Wade and Jackson Allen Etienne

    Wade and Anne Etienne announce the birth of their twin sons, Calvin Wade Etienne and Jackson Allen Etienne, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    Calvin weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and Jackson weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.
    Anne Etienne is the former Anne Ramsey. Calvin and Jackson have an older sibling, Levi, who is 3.
    Grandparents are Phil and Joann Etienne of Derby, Charles Ramsey of Derby and Norma Ramsey of Branchville.
    Great-grandparents are Frederick and Thelma Carter of Cannelton.

    Former Bassmaster Classic champion Alton Jones has some surprising thoughts when it comes to winter bass fishing.

    Surprisingly, Jones ranks winter as one of his favorite seasons of the year to catch bass, because he can literally fish top to bottom with two of his favorite lures, surface plugs and deep-diving crank-baits. These lures aren’t normally associated with cold- weather fishing, but the Yamaha pro has been catching winter bass with them for years.

    INDIANAPOLIS – In gearing up for the start of his second term, Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller said his office in 2012 focused on protecting Hoo siers of various ages – children, young adults, homeowners and retirees – and his goal in 2013 is to expand and broaden that focus to combat prescription drug abuse in Indiana.
