  • St. Paul annual summer picnic set for Sunday

    TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will host an annual summer picnic Sunday in City Hall Park, 700 Main St.
    The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with grilled-chick-en and roast-beef dinners served in the parish hall, 824 Jefferson St. Takeouts will be available. Price is $8 for adults and $5 for children 8 years and younger.

    Games and food will be offered in the park across from the church beginning at 11 a.m.

  • Adalyn Grace Bosley

    Justin and Susan Bosley of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Adalyn Grace Bosley, Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Bosley is the former Susan Pierrard. Adalyn has two older siblings, Caiden and Isaiah, both 5.
    Grandparents are Don and Sandy Hempfling of Troy, Oliver Pierrard Jr. of Bristow, Brian and Joan Lasher of Rockport and Dave Bosley of Tell City.

  • Weekend Relay for Life sets $41,000 goal

    LEOPOLD – After months of fundraising and building community awareness, Perry County’s Relay for Life teams will take to the track at Perry Central High School Saturday for the annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. 

  • Hope Marie Guillaume

    Jared and Julie Guillaume of Evansville announce the birth of their daughter, Hope Marie Guillaume, Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 201/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Guillaume is the former Julie Hubert.
    Grandparents are Bruce and Joan Guillaume of Ferdinand, Paul and Becky Hubert of Leopold and the late Lisa Hope Allen.

  • Cash Waggner starts 2-0

    TELL CITY—Cash Waggner & Associates had 24 hits as it won both its games in the first night of Tell City’s age-13-16 girls softball league season Wednesday.
    Mollie Ingle and Monica Bartley each had two of Cash Waggner’s nine hits in an 11-4 win over Goffinet Homes.
    Shannon Bryant and Jennifer Trujillo combined to pitch a one-hitter for Cash Waggner that game.
    Bryant gave up one hit and two walks and struck out five in four innings. Trujillo walked none and struck out one in one inning.

  • Cassidy, Mosby All-PLAC

    LEOPOLD—Perry Central’s Tanner Cassidy and Andrew Mosby were named to the All-PLAC baseball team in voting by conference coaches Thursday.
    “I was happy with what we got,” said Perry Central Coach Phil Zellers. “They were our two seniors who really led us all year long.”
    Cassidy, a shortstop-pitcher, was one of four players to make the 15-man team for the second year in a row.

  • Waninger qualifies for regional

    JASPER—Tell City sophomore Mason Waninger shot an 11-over-par 83 in Friday’s boys golf sectional to qualify for the regional.

  • Tell City leads PAC team with 4 honorees

    TELL CITY—Tell City led the 14-man All-PAC baseball team with four selections Thursday.
    Sophomore Spenser Beard led the voting for outfielders as he was a unanimous choice for one of the three spots there.
    Trent Zuelly was the second leading vote-getter among the four infielders who made the team.
    Brian Arnold and Austin Paulin tied for second in voting for the four utility players on the team.

  • Four PC girls make All-PLAC in softball

    LEOPOLD—Winning its first conference title helped Perry Central get more players than ever on the All-PLAC girls softball team.
    The Commodores had four girls—twice their previous high—make the 15-girl team in voting by conference coaches Thursday.
    Junior first baseman Sydney Goffinet made it for the second year in a row. Seniors Ashley Guillaume and Brooke Litherland and junior Miranda Claise made it for the first time.
