  • Boy Scouts fish fry Friday at St. Paul’s

    TELL CITY – St. Paul Boy Scout Troop 192 will hold their annual fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Parish Hall, 824 Jefferson St., in Tell City.
    The menu of the all-you-can-eat meal will consist of fish, green beans, slaw, chips, bread, drink and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 years and younger. Carry out will also be available.
    Proceeds from the fish fry will help the troop attend their summer camp, which will be at Camp McKee near Lexington, Ky., this year. The scouts invite the community out to support them.

  • UE to host engineering, computer science workshop for girls March 10

    EVANSVILLE – The newly formed Tri-State Women in Computing and Engineering program is currently accepting registration for The Beauty of Engineering, a half-day workshop for girls in fourth through eighth grade.
    The workshop will take place March 10 on the University of Evansville campus. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the south lobby of the Koch Center for Engineering and Science, and the event will end at approximately 11:15 a.m. The cost is $6 per participant, and registration is open to individuals and organizations that wish to bring a group.

  • Kentucky Wesleyan to host open house

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan College will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. 
    Students will have the chance to experience college life at Kentucky Wesleyan.  The open house includes tours of the campus and opportunities to meet with faculty, staff and current students.
    Students and their families can get information on financial aid, student life at KWC, college athletics and more.

  • Indiana Artisan Marketplace to showcase locally made art, food

    INDIANAPOLIS – Showcasing the creations of Indiana’s best artisans and foodists, the Indiana Artisan Marketplace returns to the Expo Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds March 31-April 1.
    The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 31 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1. Admission is $10 and children 7 years and under get in for free.

  • Big T’s Trade Day set for March 10

    TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will play host to the annual Big T’s Trade Day at noon, March 10. The public is invited to participate in the event.
    In the past, the event has seen some unique trading goods, organizers said, such as tools, furniture, fencing supplies, household appliances, chicken, ducks and other animals, and horse tack and supplies.
    The event will be held on the club’s property at 9455 Summer Road, Tell City. For more information or directions, call 836-2244 or 836-2127.

    St. John’s Lenten worship set
    EVANSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston will hold Lenten worship services every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
    The Board of Education will serve soup and sandwiches every Wednesday evening starting at 5:30 p.m.
    The church is located 1⁄2 mile west of New Boston on County Road 1160 North. The Rev. Mile Mueller is pastor and may be reached at 547 2007 for information. Everyone is invited to the Lenten services and meals.

  • William Tell Valentine king, queen

    The William Tell Senior Center held its Valentine dance Feb. 11. Sage Critcheloe was crowned queen and Robert Edwards was crowned king. Each received a box of chocolates and flowers.

    LEOPOLD – A euchre tournament will be held Saturday at the Leopold Conservation Club.
    Doors will open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7.
