  • Glory Bees Preschool accepting applications

    TELL CITY – Glory Bees Preschool, a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Tell City, is accepting applications for the 2011-12 school year.
    The preschool provides a Christian educational experience through Bible stories, songs and Christian character building. The curriculum incorporates kindergarten readiness skills, social and communication skills, community field trips, guest readers and a reading-incentive book club.

  • Perry Central announces preschool, kindergarten registration

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central is accepting registrations for preschool and kindergarten for the 2011-12 school year. Children who will be 4 years of age by Aug. 1 are eligible to attend preschool. Children who will be 5 years of age by Aug. 1 are eligible for kindergarten.
    Preschool round-up will be held Friday, April 15. Round-up for kindergarten students who do not currently attend preschool at Perry Central will be held Friday, April 8. Students who currently attend Perry Central preschool will automatically be registered for kindergarten next year.

  • WTE holds kindergarten enrollment

    TELL CITY – Kindergarten enrollment for the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. will be held March 10 from 1 until 6 p.m. for all children entering school for the first time. Parents and children should enter through the main door at William Tell Elementary and follow signs. Each child registering for kindergarten will be given a folder.

  • Tots Lots Preschool enrollment

    TELL CITY – Tots Lots Preschool has begun enrollment for the 2011-12 school year. For a child to be eligible for the morning session, he or she must be 4 years old by Aug. 1. The morning session meets from 9 to 11 a.m. For a child to be eligible for the afternoon session, he or she must be 3 years old by Aug. 1. This session is held from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • CCC Preschool hosting open house

    TELL CITY – Community Christian Church Preschool will open registration for the 2011-12 school year at its open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 15.
    Parents will have the opportunity to tour the preschool, visit classrooms, review the curriculum, meet the staff and take advantage of early enrollment.

  • Anderson Fire Department annual meeting today

    BRISTOW – The 62nd annual meeting of the Anderson Township Fire Department Inc. will be held today at the Bristow Community Center.
    The business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will include election of directors for districts 1, 6, 7 and 8.
    Guest speaker will be Lynn Enmen, Perry County Red Cross director. She will talk about the services of the Red Cross in Perry County. Annie Hynes, membership sales manager for Air Evac, will also speak about the services of Air Evac, a medical air transport service.

  • Men’s Lenten breakfasts slated to begin Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – The Men’s Lenten Breakfast Fellowship Group of Perry County has finalized plans for its annual Lenten breakfasts. Cannelton United Church of Christ will host the first breakfast Saturday. The breakfasts will continue each Saturday morning throughout the Lenten season from 7 to 8 a.m. Donations are $3.

  • Ladies to hold Lenten coffees Saturdays

    PERRY COUNTY – The Ladies Lenten Prayer Coffees will begin Saturday at Gospel Tabernacle Church. St. John United Church of Christ and St. Michael Catholic Church will co-host.

  • Smith – Foley

    Dean and Theresa Smith of Jasper announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lauren N. Smith of Jasper, to Kevin P. Foley of Chandler, son of Richard and Theresa Foley of Chandler.

    The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Jasper High School and will graduate from Ball State University in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics.
    Mr. Foley is a 2004 Castle High School graduate and a 2009 graduate of Indiana University Southeast with a bachelor’s degree in general studies. He is employed at Berry Plastics in Evansville.
