PERRY COUNTY – Effective Nov. 19, Indiana Social Security offices will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – a reduction of 30 minutes each weekday. In addition, beginning Jan. 2, offices will close to the public at noon every Wednesday.
PERRY COUNTY – There is still time for students in primary and secondary schools, both public and private in grades kindergarten through 12, to design a poster for the 24th annual River Sweep 2013.
Fifteen prizes will be awarded. The grand prize is $500, and the school representing the grand prize winner will also receive an award. A prize of $500 will be presented to the student with the winning design for the official River Sweep T-shirt. Thirteen $50 prizes will be awarded to one winner at each grade level.
The sixth grade students at Perry Central Elementary School got the privilege to see a K9 demonstration by Officer Michael Jackson and his dog, Eric, officer Derek Lawalin and his dog, Jago, and Officer Jason Shadwick.
