  • Uebelhor Toyota earns president’s award

    JASPER – Tony Uebelhor of Uebelhor Toyota has announced Uebelhor Toyota has been awarded the 2012 President’s Award.

  • Nominees sought for annual Distinguished Citizen Award

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society is seeking nominations for the annual Distinguished Citizen Award.
    The following requirements are considered in determining the distinguished citizen:
    An individual who has accepted Tell City as his or her community, whether by birth or adoption, and has benefited the community
    Has accomplished noteworthy activities either by employment, civic organizations, volunteer service or government representation
    Unselfishly worked for the betterment of others and having an enthusiastic attitude

  • Camden Alexander Carter

    Kirstie and Christopher Carter of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Camden Alexander Carter, Friday, June 7, 2013, at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Carter is the former Kirstie Vaught. Camden has one older sister, Kylie Carter, 3.
    Grandparents are Jerry and Kathy Vaught of Cannelton and Maria Carter of Bremen, Ky.

  • Fischer – Weyer

    Julia Fischer of St. Meinrad and Bart Weyer of Ferdinand announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Daniel and Darlene Fischer of St. Meinrad. She is a 2004 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
    She is an assistant supervisor at Lake Rudolph Campground and RV resort.
    Mr. Weyer is the son of Stephen and Debbie Weyer of Ferdinand. He is a 2000 graduate of Forest Park High School.

    In an annual program intended to acquaint youngsters with the natural world around them, local, state and federal agencies partnered to present the 11th annual Adventures with Nature Field Day Saturday at Tipsaw Lake.

  • 150 years of faith at St. Mark Church

    Parishioners of St. Mark Catholic Church and guests packed the parish and a tent erected outside Sunday to celebrate the parish’s sesquicentennial. The Rev. Christopher Coyne, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, was the principal celebrant and was joined by Pastor Dennis Duvelius and former Pastors Barnabas Gillespie OSB and Mark Gottemoeller.
