    Deer Creek Baptist Church will host a Thanksgiving service and meal at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with special music provided by Revival Music. All are invited. Ordination services and a fellowship meal will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 25.

    St. John to hold annual Christmas bazaar
    NEW BOSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church, located a half-mile west of New Boston, will host their annual Christmas Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1.
    There will be crafts, homemade candy, apple dumplings, baked goods including springerlies, quilts, blankets, turnip slaw, turnip kraut and much more.

  • Fun in the fall leaves

    Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start children and their families enjoyed a day outside together recently. Early Head Start participants meet weekly for home visits and twice monthly for playtime, education and family activities.

  • North Perry Head Start celebrates Fudge Day

    During October, the children at the Lincoln Hills Development Corp. North Perry Head Start enjoyed activities centered around F.U.D.G.E. day: fathers, uncles, dads, grandpas and more. Family members and the students enjoyed a visit to the Perry County Public Library. Several books were read to the children, and the children got to check out books.

    DERBY – An informational meeting for St. Mary’s Cemetery in Derby will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Derby Tavern.

  • Final 2012 TNR program set for Monday

    PERRY COUNTY – County residents are asked to help the Perry County Animal Shelter in controlling stray cats in the area with a trap, neuter and release program.
    The program is for stray cats only. Residents who are willing to capture a stray may take it to the shelter at 200 Herzeele St. in Cannelton between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Monday.
    For $30 per cat, a service from Vanderburgh County will have the cats spayed or neutered.
    Cats will be ready for pickup at 10 a.m. Tuesday and then released where they were caught.

  • Daughters of Isabella to hold annual raffle

    TELL CITY – It’s time for the Daughters of Isabella Christmas raffle, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. Fundraisers such as the raffle are necessary so the group can help other charitable and nonprofit organizations, scholarships and school functions in the area.
    D of I members will sell raffle tickets today, Friday and Saturday at Noble’s IGA and Cash Saver.

  • Little stationed at Air Force base in Louisiana

    BOSSIER CITY, La. – Patrick Little, a 2007 Tell City High School graduate, is currently serving in the United State Air Force. The son of John and Joane Little of Tell City, Little is as-signed to the 2nd Bomb Wing, located on Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City. He is a cyber transport systems technician for the second communications squadron.

  • Rudolph’s Christmas weekends at Lake Rudolph starts Nov. 23

    SANTA CLAUS – Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort has launched Rudolph’s Family Christmas Weekends Friday and Saturday nights from Nov. 23 through Dec. 15.
