    Public invited to sing-a-long with Cannelton  UMC
    CANNELTON – Be ready to clap your hands and tap your feet with the congregation of Cannelton United Methodist Church during a sing-a-long at 3 p.m. April 21 at the church, Third and Taylor streets.
    The church will offer choral selections and there will be plenty of time to sing favorite hymns.
    Friends and family are welcome and those attending are asked to take a covered dish to share in a light supper after.

  • Kayaking for beginners Saturday

    BIRDSEYE – Have you ever wished you knew how to kayak or wanted to try it out before buying your own equipment?
    Join the Patoka Lake Interpretive Naturalist at the beach for a beginners kayaking lesson at 2 p.m. EDT April 20.
    During this short lesson, participants will get to try their hands at a few different kayaks and paddles. Participants will learn what gear is needed and the best places to paddle on Patoka.
    All equipment including life jackets will be provided, just take friends and family.

  • Cannelton egg-hunt champs

    The annual Cannelton Legion Auxiliary Easter Egg Hunt was held March 30 at Cannelton Legion Field.

    More than 1,200 eggs stuffed with candy and food coupons were hidden for kids up to 10 years of age to find. The following were winners of the special “bicycle egg” in their categories. Pictured from the left are Danielle Wroe, 8 to 10 years old; Levi Smith, 5 to 7 years old; Wyatt Luttrell, 3 to 4 years old and Philip Royer, 0 to 2 years old.

  • Tom and Carol Vaal

    Mr. and Mrs. Tom Vaal of St. Meinrad will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 4, 2013. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be said at St. Meinrad Catholic Church at 2 p.m.

    An open house and reception will immediately follow at the Fulda Sportsman Club. The couple requests no gifts.

    TCHS Class of 1963
    TELL CITY – Tell City High School Class of 1963 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. April 25 at the Hoosier Heights Country Club. Class members and spouses are encouraged to attend.  

    Tell City National, TCB Bank reunion April 23 at Ponderosa
    PERRY COUNTY – Former employees of Tell City National Bank or TCB Bank will meet at Ponderosa Steak House in Tell City at 6 p.m. April 23. Anyone who worked at TCNB or TCB is invited, along with spouses.

  • Mosby – Barger

    Vanessa Mosby and David Barger of Tell City were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Tell City First United Methodist Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Scott Mosby, Belinda Ball and Shelley Mosby, all of Tell City. Mr. Barger is the son of Tim and Jenny Miller of Tell City and the late Bennie Barger.
    The bride was given in marriage by her sons, Avery and Carter Taylor during the double-ring ceremony officiated by the church’s pastor Andy Payton.

    Mike and Natalie Johnson and Eugene and Lisa Bolin announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Kailey Johnson of Troy and Nathan Bolin of Tell City.
