    The Blazing Saddles Horse and Pony 4-H Club raised $1,650.32 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of Zach Taylor.

    Gospel Tabernacle church camp July 24
    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Gospel Tabernacle Church will host its 39th annual Victory Valley Church Camp from July 24 through July 29.
    The camp is for children ages 12 to 18.

    Carpenter in concert Sunday at Nazarene church
    TELL CITY – The Tell City Church of the Nazarene, 17 Lausanne Court, will host a gospel sing featuring Berdena Carpenter at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
    The community is invited to attend.

  • Leopold church picnic scheduled for July 31

    LEOPOLD – St. Augustine’s Catholic Church will have its annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 31 at the church.
    Mass is set for 10:30 a.m. and parking will be available for the handicapped. There will be quilts, a quilt raffle, silent auction, country store, bingo, ice cream, games for young and old, baked goods and a grand raffle of 60 prizes totaling $2,750.
    Family style chicken dinners will be served in the air-conditioned dining room. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Carry-outs will be available.

  • Tell Street Baptist Bible school set

    TELL CITY – The Tell Street Baptist Church will host this year’s vacation Bible school July 18 through July 23.
    Children 4 years old up to the 12th grade will meet each night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early July 18 to register. Those wishing to attend can also call 547-7366 to register.
    An adult class will also be offered this year.
    The theme is Pandamania, where God is wild about you. It centers on “God sightings,” to look for all God’s gifts we have received.

    Mason Alexander Fuchs
    Isaiah and Brittany Fuchs of Dale announce the birth of their son, Mason Alexander Fuchs, Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Fuchs is the former Brittany Raven.
    Grandparents are Dan Fuchs of Evanston, Chad and Lisa Roberts of Dale and the late Wilma Fuchs.
    Great-grandparents are Zelma Fuchs of Evanston, Ralph and Janice Wahl of Dale and the late Jim Fuchs.
