  • National forest staff donates to pantries

    BEDFORD – Hoosier National Forest employees delivered more than 500 pounds of food over the summer to donate to local food pantries as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s annual Feds Feed Families Food Drive. 

  • Free Movies at Sunset Park

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Regional Arts Association will host a free movie night, “Movies at Sunset” the next two Saturdays. The movies will take place at Sunset Park. The park will be closed to traffic for these evenings. Parking will be available outside the floodwall.

  • Water-testing offers not tied to local utilities

    TELL CITY – The Tell City and Cannelton water departments have received several inquiries about telephone calls residents are getting concerning a company wanting to go to homes and perform free water-quality tests. 

    Neither of the water departments endorses this company and Tell City Water Superintendent Dale Poole and Cannelton Utility Manager Philip Ball said daily water tests are conducted by certified operators. 

    The two cities’ water must and does meet standards approved by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

  • State agency calls Tell City High School specialist outstanding

    TELL CITY – A Tell City High School Jobs for America’s Graduates specialist has been recognized by Indiana Workforce Development as outstanding in that role. 

  • Paint the Town Pink candlelight kickoff

    PERRY COUNTY – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and CVS Pharmacy and Perry County Memorial Hospital encourage local residents to attend a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at City Hall Park, Main Street in Tell City. The park will be decorated with pink ribbons.

  • Audyn Brynna James

    Darrin and Megan James of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Audyn Brynna James, Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 9 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Mrs. James is the former Megan Newlin. Audyn has one older sister, Emery Lanae James, 2.
    Grandparents are Mark and Penny Newlin of Tell City and Doug and Nancy James of Tell City.

  • United Way Youth Day of Caring returns Nov. 4

    PERRY COUNTY – United Way of Perry County will sponsor its community-wide Youth Day of Caring Nov. 4. Junior- and senior-high school age youth from churches, schools, Scout groups, 4-H clubs and other organizations are invited to assist local nonprofit organizations in the community. 

  • Kleemann – Buckler

    Natalie Kleemann and Richard Buckler were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.

    The bride is the daughter of Kathy Kleemann of Tell City and the late James Kleemann. She is the granddaughter of Helen Kleemann and Imogene Dauby.
    Mr. Buckler is the son of William Buckler of Siberia and Karen Buckler of Leopold. He is the grandson of Mary Beckman and Nancy Neuenschwander.
