BRANDENBURG, Ky.—Fire & Ice, a Perry Central-based travel team, used timely hitting to place second in a seven-team age-16-and-under girls softball tourney last weekend.
Fire & Ice gave up only six runs in its two pool games, so it entered the double-elimination round of the tourney as the No. 2 seed.
Fire & Ice won two games in that bracket Saturday but lost to Outrage 95, a Louisville-based team, 10-0 Sunday.
The Perry County team then beat the Louisville Stars 11-10 in eight innings to clinch second place.
