At Branchville Correctional Facility, the work of rehabilitating lives extends beyond the men living there.
The chance for new beginnings is offered to a handful of dogs, many of them rescued from death's door. Their stays, often two to three months long, offer instruction on good behavior, learning when to work and when to play and preparing for brighter futures.
When paroled from Branchville, the dogs are adopted by loving families. Their human handlers, serving longer sentences but who learn many of the same skills, hope for new opportunities, too.
