CANNELTON – With the help of volunteers and possibly some federal aid, Perry County parks are recovering from this spring’s flood damage.
County recreation director Adam Tempel told the parks board Wednesday that Derby resident Mike Franchville donated labor and used his own tractor and dump truck to haul 21 truck loads of sand off Mulzer Park in Derby.
He also brought some rock back from an old quarry.
The parks board voted to give him a $150 fuel gift card as a thank you for his efforts.
