  • HabiTrees auction Friday

    ROCKY POINT – An evening of food, music and wine Friday, Nov. 10, will be made even more fun with an auction of HabiTrees. Blue Heron Winery, located at 5330 Blue Heron Lane, near Rocky Point, will host the event, which will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m.

    The HabiTrees have been decorated by Habitat supporters, including individuals, businesses and civic groups. HabiTrees will be sold at auction during the event. Proceeds will support Habitat for Humanity of Perry County. The organization hopes to build its 20th home next year.

    Moose Lodge serving soup, dinners Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – Moose Lodge will hold its annual famous soup and chicken cook Saturday, Nov. 11, with serving beginning at 11 a.m. Chicken and pork chop dinners will include creek fries, green beans and soup will be sold by the gallon.

  • Transitional housing benefit Dec. 2

    TELL CITY – The Concerned Citizens for Drug Recovery group will host a chili supper, bake sale and silent auction Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m. Meals include a peanut butter sandwich and drink for $8.

    A guest speaker will take the podium at 6:30 and the auction will begin at 7.

    The event will take place at the EUCC, 802 10th St., Tell City.

  • Tell City Jr.- Sr. High honor rolls

    TELL CITY – Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School has announced its honor rolls for the first nine-week weeks grading period of the 2017-18 school year.

  • Juliet Miller

    Alleisha and Randy Miller of Ireland welcomed home a daughter, Juliet Miller, born Oct. 4, 2017. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces.

    Grandparents are Lisa Wheatley of Troy, Allen Wheatley of Tell City and

    Dan and Linda Miller of Ireland. Great grandparents are Anna Wheatley of Tell City and Vera Eckert of Jasper.

    Juliet was also welcomed by brothers, Chase and Bryce Miller.

    The Tell City Marching Marksmen’s feature of “Orbis Lunar” has landed them a sixth-place finish in Class D at this past weekend’s Indiana State School Music Association finals. The season’s journey in success has been an out-of-this-world experience for members of a band that is quite quickly growing its reputation as one of the best in the region.

  • Das Nikolausfest Dec. 2, 9

    SANTA CLAUS – Das Nikolausfest will take place on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 in the lower level of St. Nicholas Church in Santa Claus. On Dec. 2, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the Feast of St. Nicholas Mass beginning at 4:30 p.m.

    There will be Mexican food such as frijoles charros, homemade steak tacos and Mexican style baked goods.

  • Remembrance and hope candlelight service Dec. 2

    TELL CITY – The Day By Day Grief support group will host its annual remembrance and hope candlelight service on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. The holiday season is supposed to be a time of joy and celebration but for those of us who are suffering from grief it can be the most difficult time of the year. Grief is an ongoing journey.

    It doesn't end after a few weeks, months or even a few years.
