    • Andrew V. King, 69, of 903 Traphagen Drive, Tell City, March 23, on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center but was released March 24 after posting $205 bail.

    • Cody V. Spencer, 22, of 610 Harrison St., Troy, March 23, on a preliminary charge of battery.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center. Bail was set at $4,000.

  • Spencer Co. man jailed after alleged home invasion

    A Santa Claus man was arrested March 17 after he allegedly broke into an Anderson Township home. Jason Z. Pennington, 35, of 675 S. Sled Run, faces a preliminary charge of residential entry. A couple allegedly found him inside their home that afternoon. Pennington left the scene but was stopped by a Perry County reserve sheriff’s deputy near New Boston. It was unclear Thursday if formal charges had been filed against Pennington.

    • Samantha L. Bader, 30, of 13701 Old State Road 37, Tell City, March 19, on a preliminary charge of theft.

    She was taken to Perry County Detention Center. Bail was set at $3,005.

    • Jordan T. Howard, 22, of 1428 11th St., Tell City, March 19, on two warrants for probation violation.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center. Bail was set at $1,205.

    • Samantha J. Payne, 21, of 7100 Sharon Road, Apt. 406, Newburgh, March 20, on a warrant for failure to appear.

  • Tell City driver arrested after crashing into parked cars

    TELL CITY  – A driver, who police said crashed into two parked cars in the 600 block of 14th Street in Tell City March 7, was jailed on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

    According to police records, dispatchers were called at 6:12 p.m. and told a car had hit two parked vehicles and had come to rest on its side.

    Tell City Fire Department members and Rescue Squad were summoned.

    Police lodged Thomas W. Kleiser, 59, of 826 18th St. in the Perry County Detention Center.

  • Grandview man jailed after leaving scene of accident

    CANNELTON – A Spencer County man was jailed Wednesday night after allegedly leading police officers on a brief foot chase in Cannelton.

    According to Cannelton Police Chief Lee Hall, Patrolman Ryan Smith was flagged down by a citizen just before 10:30 p.m.  The person told Smith there had been a motor-vehicle accident near the intersection of N. Seventh and Adams streets. The witness also said the driver had left the scene on foot.

  • Public’s help sought in Cannelton vandalism cases

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Police Department is looking for the person or people responsible for dozens of acts of criminal mischief perpetrated between Sunday night and Monday morning. According to Police Chief Lee Hall, officers received approximately 25 reports of vandalism to vehicles in an area stretch from the 600 block of Adams Street to the 600 block of St. Louis Avenue.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center but was released March 17 after posting $1,505 bail.

    • Allen W. Conklin, 30, of Wabash, March 17, on a preliminary charge of intimidation.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center. No bail was set but he was released March 19.

    He was taken to Perry County Detention Center but was released March 8 after posting $605 bail.
