  • Perry County students named to Ivy Tech spring 2013 dean’s list

    EVANSVILLE – Ivy Tech Community College-Southwest recognizes the following Perry County students for making the dean’s list for the 2013 spring semester.
    To be on the dean’s list, Ivy Tech students must achieve a minimum 3.50 grade-point average in non-academic skills advancement courses with no Ds or Fs, must have earned six or more credits during the semester and at least 12 non-academic skills advancement credits during their course of study.  

  • Berger graduates New Prairie High School

    NEW CARLISLE – Andrew Berger graduated from New Prairie High School in New Carlisle June 2. He is the son of Frank and Elisa Berger of New Carlisle and the grandson of Paul and Mary Louise Berger of Tell City and Roland and Agnes Sikorski of Hobart.

    Berger was a member of the National Honor Society and vice president of the Spanish National Honor Society. During high school, he was a member of the New Prairie Theatre Co. and held the office of president his senior year. He enjoyed both acting and choreographing for the annual musicals.

    During April the children at the Lincoln Hills Development Corp. North Perry Head Start Center enjoyed Fathers, Uncles, Dads, Grandpas, Etc. Day – or FUDGE – activities.

    LEOPOLD — Perry Central Elementary school announces the following students were named to the school’s honor roll for the fourth nine-week grading period:

    Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start children and their families enjoy a day together at playtime at the Early Head Start building.

  • Bristow Christian’s annual scholarship

    Alan Cassidy, a church elder of the Bristow Christian Church, presents his grandson Tanner Cassidy with the Cecil Aders Scholarship totaling $1,000. Cassidy, the son of Brian and Lori Cassidy, will attend Indiana University School of Business. He is a 2013 graduate of Perry Central High School.

    Kieser earns dean’s list spot
    TELL CITY – Natasha Kieser was named to the fall 2012 and spring 2013 dean’s lists for Ivy Tech College.
    She is majoring in early childhood development and is expected to graduate in May 2014.
    Kieser is the daughter of Kenny and Susie Kieser and resides in Derby.

  • Round Up scholarship recipients

    PERRY COUNTY – Southern Indiana Power awarded Operation Round Up grants once again. Members allow Southern Indiana Power to round up their electric bill to the next whole dollar.

  • Drug, Alcohol Awareness poster contest student winners announced

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County Prosecutor’s Office announces the winners of the 2013 Drug and Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest. The contest was open to all Perry County students in kindergarten through seventh grades, and ran from April 17 through May 17.

    A panel consisting of a member of the Perry County Substance Abuse Committee, a member of the local Fraternal Order of Police, the Victims Advocate and the Perry County Prosecutor judged each poster that was submitted.
