• Perry Childcare to hold open house and begin enrollment

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry Childcare Preschool is now enrolling children 3 to 5 years of age.

    The staff’s goal is to work closely together with each child and the child’s family to provide a solid foundation for intellectual, physical and social growth. Children are encouraged to explore their world through the medium of play in this hands-on-based program.

    There will be an open house held March 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    The preschool class will be held four days per week, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    VINCENNES – Indiana Conservation Officers have partnered with Vincennes University to offer a Citizen’s Academy to college students and citizens who register. 

    Vincennes University will be awarding internship credits to college students who enroll and successfully complete the Citizens Academy.

    TELL CITY –  Tyler Hagedorn of Tell City, was selected as a member of the 2015-16 Indiana State University  Eco-marathon team. He is majoring in mechanical engineering technology and will graduate in May.

    Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams from around the world to design, build, test, and drive ultra-energy-efficient vehicles. The ISU Eco-marathon team will compete in the prototype class at Shell Eco-marathon Americas this April in Detroit, Mich. This is ISU's first year participating in the competition.

  • William Tell kindergarten enrollment set for March 17

    TELL CITY – Kindergarten enrollment for the Tell City-Troy Township School Corp. will be held Thursday, March 17, from 1 to 6 p.m. for all children entering school for the first time. Parents and children should enter through the main door and follow signs.

    To enter kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year, a child must be at least five years old on or before Aug. 1. A child does not have to enroll in kindergarten at age five. If parents believe the child is not ready, the child may enter kindergarten at age six.

  • Perry Central hosting April Battle of the Bands

    LEOPOLD – Bands led by area students are invited to come together April 23 at Perry Central for a battle of the bands. Only 15 bands will be accepted and the cost to compete will be $15 per band member. 

    Registration forms are available on the Perry Central web page, www.pccs.k12.in.us. A link to download forms is in the scrolling banner. Registration forms can be mailed to PC Bands, Attn: Andrea Clark, 18677 Old State Rd. 37, Leopold, IN. 47551.

    All bands must adhere to certain rules in order to compete. Lip syncing or tracking will not be permitted.

  • Snowflake program returns to Perry County Friday

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry Central will once again host the annual Snowflake Program for approximately 150 seventh and eighth graders from Tell City, Cannelton and Perry Central Schools after school this Friday, Feb. 19. The program combines an afternoon of workshops and presentations on teen issues, with a pizza supper and a dance.
