  • Tell City Renaissance class names picks for Stretch Award

    TELL CITY – The TCHS Renaissance program would like to congratulate the winners of the Stretch Award. These students raised their GPAs the most between the last two grading periods for their respective grade levels. For their hard work and dedication, the winners received a free T-Shirt commemorating their accomplishment and are invited to take a friend to enjoy breakfast at Julie’s Tell Street Café. Winners for this award are freshman Jasmine Sims, sophomore Andy Pannett, junior Caleb Dixon and senior Drake Jones.

  • TCJHS vocalists qualify for state

    TELL CITY – Three Tell City High School chorus students earned top honors competing at an Indiana State School Music Association Vocal Solo Contest Saturday at Evansville North High School.

    Senior Breanne Embry and juniors Leah Padgett and Rebecca Phillips each finished first.

  • Hayes named to dean’s list at University of Memphis

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – McKenzie Hayes of Tell City has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Memphis for the fall 2015 semester. The dean’s list is composed of students who have earned 12 or more hours in either the fall or spring semester with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for that semester.

  • Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School basketball homecoming court

    The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Student Council is proud to sponsor this year’s basketball homecoming on Thursday, Feb. 11, between the junior-varsity and varsity basketball games of the PAC contest versus Pike Central. The J.V. game begins at 5:30 p.m., and the ceremony will take place at approximately 6:30 p.m.

  • Ivy Tech offering free financial aid application workshop

    TELL CITY – Ivy Tech Community College in Tell City will offer a Free Application for Federal Student Aid workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. Participants are asked to pre-register for the event by calling (812) 547-7915.

    This free workshop is open to the public and is aimed to assist students in completing the FAFSA before the state’s March 10 deadline. Ivy Tech financial aid representatives will be available to answer questions and help applicants with their FAFSA.

  • Stepping Stones to hold open house Feb. 11

    LEOPOLD – The public is invited to visit Stepping Stones Preschool’s fall open house Thursday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 18020 Lafayette St., Leopold. Guests can meet the staff or tour the facility.
    Stepping Stones Preschool offers extended care for children needing early drop-off or late pickup. Students using extended care are provided breakfast if needed, lunch and an afternoon snack.

  • Cannelton’s Basketball Homecoming candidates announced

    CANNELTON – Cannelton High School will celebrate its 2016 homecoming, “Welcome Home to the Black and Gold” Friday, Jan. 29 in the Cannelton Community Center starting at approximately 6:15 p.m.

    There are four queen candidates.

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Elementary School has released the honor rolls for both the second quarter of the first semester and the first semester as a whole.
